Brandon Bruce Lee: February 1st/1965-March 31st/1993

Story on the Brandon Lee Movement(BLM).

The Brandon Lee Movement came to be under two different circumstances. For one I was trying to do some type of memorial on Brandon, and did not know where to start. I currently run tributes on the internet for Brandon (please see Links ) But I wanted to personally do something more. Something that the world would stand up and say "Now there is a tribute to a fine man, and human being!" But I had no idea where to start. .

Well, I first decided it would be nice if we could put out a magazine, one which ran in book stores nationwide, with the proceeds going to the Brandon Bruce Lee Scholarship Fund. So where does someone start something like this?.

First place I tried looking was under Yahoo.com to find somewhere a email address or phone number I could call to find out how to make this happen. Nothing. I mean sure I found 3 listings for a Bruce Cadwell in Boise, but that would be impersonal and VERY, very stomping on someone's private lives. No. I did not want to do this. So I did another search this time on Bruce Lee, thinking maybe someone would know how to contact a person about getting permission to use his name in a magazine. Nothing. Then I came across the Jeet Kun Do Association (or JKD for short). The email I recieved was shocking.

The JKD(Jeet Kun Do) told me in an email that Linda had no rights to Brandon's name, that shortly after his death in 1993, Brandon's name, and likeness were bought out by Universal Studios, and if I were to gain permission for something like that, I had to email or contact Universal. I was totally stumped! It did not make any sense to me whatsoever. Why would Universal Studios own Brandon's likeness? He never did ONE movie for their studio, not one! So I was down. How could I contact such a place like that? I scoured the net for an official site on Universal to see if again I could find a phone number or address where I could write a letter or even call them.

On their Official site, Universal says right in black and white "WE do take in ideas, but we do not credit you for them. Please do not clog up our email addresses with ideas as we cannot agree nor not agree to all." Which again put me in a bind. How could I fix this? I wanted to do this so badly. Well I then founded the Brandon Lee Un-Official (for now) Magazine which is currently online only (for now). Also a while back one of the women on a Brandon Lee list finally had enough with the way people did nothing to honor Brandon's memory. She has come out and decided to do something for herself, and for him. This I will not disclose for now until this person gives me permission to do so. But in that brief moment I thought Why don't a bunch of us devoted Brandon Lee fans get together and do something about this?.

So, now today is the BLM(Brandon Lee Movement). We are a devoted bunch of Brandon's fans who are finally trying to show the world that Brandon is not just Bruce Lee's son. Brandon was a man who had a life going for him, was going to settle down and get married, and have his name known for himself. But this did not happen unfortunatly due to tragedy. Brandon and Bruce Lee did die young yes, but their deaths are no way connected. How could a brain edema and a gsw be connected? Not possible. Now its Brandon's turn to be in the worlds eye. It's time Brandon's name was known! (----> If you would like to join the Brandon Lee Movement, please put your email address into the box below. Thanks all! <--------)!
